"Arc of Justice" Film Screening, Presented by Memphis Tilth

  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN, 38105 United States (map)

Join Memphis Tilth for the second installment of our fall film series, hosted by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the Marlo Thomas Center for Global Education and Collaboration. Through this series we will showcase films highlighting some of the most critical issues affecting our food and farming systems, and share ways in which the work we do and the values we hold at Memphis Tilth support positive change.

The second film in our series is Arc of Justice, a film that traces the remarkable journey of New Communities, Inc. and the struggle for racial justice and economic empowerment among African Americans in southwest Georgia. It takes its title from a favorite saying of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Called upon to offer solace and encouragement to people weary of the slow pace of social progress, he would often quote from a sermon delivered by an Abolitionist preacher a dozen years before the Civil War: β€œThe arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
